We recently had new neighbors move in, and of course, I’m back on the chocolate chip cookie train! This time, I decided to try Martha Stewart’s Cakey Chocolate Chip Cookies recipe from her Cookies cookbook.

I’m definitely not a crunchy cookie person – give me a chewy or cakey cookie any day – so these were absolutely perfect in my book, and the new neighbors loved them too!

My only complaint is that they start tasting a little like a Chips Ahoy after a few days. If that’s your cookie jam, age these for a few days! 😂

Cakey Chocolate Chip Cookies

  • 1/4 cup light brown sugar packed
  • 1 tsp kosher salt
  • 1 Tbsp vanilla extract
  • 2 eggs large
  • 2 cups semisweet chocolate chips

Add salt, vanilla, and eggs and mix until just combined. Add flour mixture and mix until just combined. Stir in chocolate chips with a wooden spoon.
  2. Using a 1 Tbsp cookie scoop, drop dough onto baking sheets lined with parchment or a silpat. Bake until centers are set and edges are golden, 10-12 minutes.
